Western Manitoba has been riding the edge of an oil boom that has transformed the neighbouring jurisdictions of Saskatchewan and North Dakota. In 2012, production reached a record 19 million barrels. Environmentalists have raised concerns about fracking and the dangers it poses to water, land and the atmosphere. Joining to discuss the implications of fracking in Manitoba is Emma Liu, water campaigner with the Council of Canadians.
