The Peace Congress, held in in Washington, DC on Nov 10, 2018 in place of the Trump Military Parade, brought together more than 100 people seeking to build a more effective peace and justice movement to end the wars at home and abroad. The Peace Congress celebrated their success in helping to stop the Trump military parade and used the opportunity to hold a general assembly to develop a strategy, goals and next steps for action to strengthen the peace and anti-imperialist movement.
Recording by Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers, of Popular Resistance

Post production and voiceover by Wilton Vought (last name rhymes with thought)

This is Episode 12 in the OVOC series.

There was a bit of feedback from the PA at the start of Joe Lombardo's talk, but it soon cleared up.

There are 4 edits of this event on the R4A server. The first 2 are of the panelists' talks, minus the later comments by the panelists and audience. They include a voiceover and intro /outro music, etc, and are 58:30 in duration:

1. -24 LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale), 192 Kbps Mp3, suitable for radio play. No further editing required.
2. -19 LUFS, 64 Kbps Mp3, a smaller file suitable for downloading onto a mobile device by the end user.

The following 2 edits include the panelists' talks AND the later comments by the panelists and audience. They do not include a voiceover, intro/outro music, etc. They are approximately 1:29:20 in duration:

3. -24 LUFS, 192 Kbps Mp3, suitable for radio play. You may want to add an intro and outro, etc.
4. -19 LUFS, 64 Kbps Mp3, a smaller file suitable for downloading onto a mobile device by the end user.

Would you like to:

1. Download all or part of the Essential Dissent archive in a few clicks via OneDrive?

2. Access my audio in .wav format, which is the highest quality and preferred if you do your own edits for later conversion to another format?

3. Download episodes that have disappeared from R4A?

4. Access extras such as conference brochures which give more detailed information re the presenters, panels and sponsoring organizations?

5. Continue doing all of the above even if R4A becomes defunct?

Send an email to wvought at gmail dot com, requesting the archive link. Include Essential Dissent Archive in the subject line.

If you’re affiliated with a radio station, please tell me your radio station’s call letters and the name of your show. If you’re a podcaster, please tell me the name of your podcast. And if you’re an end user who just wants to stream or download some interesting audio, that’s cool too.

The link will give you access to the Essential Dissent archive (including all subsequent episodes) for as long as the archive is available on OneDrive. (If I ever have reason to change the link I'll send you the new one.)

A big advantage of this system is that if R4A ever stops working or vanishes altogether, I’ll still be able to post new episodes to the archive, and you’ll still be able to download them. In that case I'll send a notification when I post a new episode (but you can opt out of receiving notifications at any time).

You are welcome to share the link with others, but since I will then not have their email address they will not receive notifications, nor will I be able to send them a new link should that become necessary.

No spam, no fee, no BS, and I’ll remove your email address from my list upon request.
