Chapter Eight presents the next movement of my musical work in progress, The Disquieting: [IV] The Half-Life Of Transcendence. This section offers an apology to the Himalaya, an exceptional place where the earth and the heavens embrace. For context, I examine the history and present of Mount Everest, share recent literary research into Salman Rushdieâs best-known novel, and consider the transcendental implications for the peculiar human habit of climbing mountains.
