Seventy-six men arrived off the coast of British Columbia in a barge from Sri Lanka in mid-October. All, but one, continue to be detained in a jail outside of Vancouver. The Sri Lankan government suggests these men have ties to the Tamil Tigers, but advocates say those accusations hold no truth. Todd Ross speaks for Canadian Human Rights Voice, a non-profit organization advocating for human rights in Sri Lanka.
