In the first half hour, Elizabeth Rodriquez discussed the secret war on the Mexican American border. In light of the coverage on the Middle East uprisings, Ms Rodriquez believes this information is long overdue.

She shared the history of the conflict and what the mainstream media has failed to report.

In the second hour, author Andy Couturier, "A Different Kind of Luxury, Japanese Lessons in Simple Living and Inner Abundance", discussed the philosophy behind a truly fulfilling life.

Among the themes discussed were being a consumed in a consumer culture, quantum physics and energy, life lived intimately connected to the land, the quality of time well spent, being free of working for a wage, the search for a more reasonable and affectionate way to be in the world, the limitations of a group-oriented society, the pleasure of using one's hands to provide for one's needs, the satisfaction of living a life of few desires and reduced consumption, a reverence for the natural world, and an awareness of death and impermanence.

One of the individuals interviewed in his book, "Atsuko Watannabe, an anti-nuclear activist, spoke about the impact of the nuclear meltdown in Northern Japan and what we can do to assist the victims.

Finally, Couturier, discussed writing workshops he is conducting based on his book, "Writing Open the Mind: Tapping the Subconscious to Free the Writing and the Writer in Santa Cruz and Berkeley.
