Episode 58: An Unseen Holiday Surprise
UNSEEN LEGION RADIO is down for the cause, y'all. With DJ EARL-E out of town, Your cohosts, MC PROSE and YESKI ANOMIKS came into the studio on Christmas Eve to hold down the fort and bring Hip-Hop to the people. We started out with a classic: DJ Earl-E's MIDNIGHT MOONSHINE MIX, an all-vinyl, one take mix of timeless sounds, from hip-hop to jazz; all mixed to perfection. After that, BIN GRIM hooked ULr up with his boy MOJA aka DEE JAY CORY BEE from Charleston, South Carolina who sent us a couple of dope mixes to play. The first was a nice old school set and the second brought us full circle with some great break beats, rare grooves and scratching. Much respect to Cory Bee for saving the day. DJ 3SUM of KILL RADIO's own SUNDAY SERVICE MIX called in to congratulate his fellow FLEET DJ Cory Bee, as did Bin Grim himself, giving a bit of history on Cory Bee. DJ Earl-E was the first caller though, since he didn't even know his mix would start the show. It was rounding out into a pretty good evening.
And then the magic happened.
With around half an hour left in the show, our fellow LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SKILL DISTRICT homie THAI STRONG came walking nonchalantly thru the door with a lovely young lady who turned out to be none other than LADY LESURR from the UNITED KINGDOM!
WHAT???
Aww Yeah... Her new EP, MONA LESHURR (pronounced 'Mona Leesha') is a banger, which she proved by dropping 3 joints that were all different and all equally dope. She also stuck around to chill and chat a bit as well. It just goes to show... with ULr, there's always stuff you never saw coming. There's even stuff WE never saw coming!
And we wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy the show, be safe, and we'll get back up with you on New Year's Eve for some more of the stuff Hip-Hop is made of. One Love, y'all!
