----------------------

This is a recording of cartoonist David Rees describing his views on the "War on Terrorism".

Rees is best known as the creator of the comic strip "Get Your War On". The strip uses office-worker clip-art to satirize U.S. politics and the War on Terrorism. The artist began publishing his satirical commentaries with the beginning of the U.S. bombing of Afghanistan in October 2001, and the comic strip quickly became a popular stop for websurfers.

"Get Your War On" has been picked up for publication in _Rolling Stone_ magazine, and the first several months of strips have been collected into a book. Royalties from the sales of the collected "Get Your War On" are donated to a program to remove landmines in Afghanistan. The book is published by Soft Skull Press.

In his appearance at the University of Connecticut, David Rees told the story behind his work and shared some of his views regarding current events.

Rees spoke at the University of Connecticut, at Storrs, on March 27, 2003. His appearance was made possible by the university's Drug-Free Student Association.
